08 Jul Summer’s Best Friend is Waxing
Summer is here! And that means we need to find ways to stay cool. Which typically means hitting the pool, lake, or wearing our “gym clothes.” And if you find summer shaving arduous, but don’t want grown out hair, waxing might be your new best friend.
Does Waxing Last Longer?
The simple answer is yes, But there’s more to it. Waxing lasts longer than shaving due to the wax removing the hair from follicle. Shaving just cuts the hair at the skin’s surface. This means waxing gives a much smoother finish than shaving as a razor can leave little stubs. You also don’t have to worry about razor burn when you choose waxing.
What Areas Can Be Waxed?
Waxing is actual a very safe way of removing hair. But we understand that some may not want to do it themselves. Luckily we are here to help you! As for what areas are safe to be waxed, just about everywhere.
The most common waxing areas are legs, arms, armpits, and the bikini area. But those aren’t the only places that can be waxed. Hands, Feet, Stomach, Back, and even the Face can all be waxed. Certain areas require soft or hard types of wax. But your trained esthetician will know exactly which is best.
Where Can You Get Your Summer Waxing?
This is actually super easy answer. Here, at Bella Vita Spa and Salon! We offer multiple waxing services for the areas discussed in the above section. You can visit our Spa Waxing page for a break down on each service and their price points. But there are a few things to know before making your appointment.
Certain medications and topical creams should be discontinued at least five days before waxing. All RetinaA and Retinol products, and prescription acne products fall in this five-day period. If Acutane has been used, you should wait one full-year before waxing. You should also never wax over a sunburn.
And while it is not a medical issue, for the best results, the hair needs to be at least a quarter of an inch long. The wax will have a hard time pulling anything shorter. Which, could lead to some hair not being removed and leaving a patchy finish.
How Can I Book My Appointment?
Booking with Bella Vita Spa and Salon is very easy! You have several different online/over the phone options. We have an online appointment page, or you can reach out to us on our Bella Vita Facebook page. Or if you’d like to call, you can reach us at (918) 369-8482.
However, if you are a regular at Bella Vita, you can always make your appointment while in at your next service! And we always recommend to get a regularly scheduled service while you are in. Especially for waxing, as that hair will grow back. You and your esthetician can discuss what time interval’s would be best for you.
